| Hi all for all of you that would get the areoplane from manchester airport it is worth checking out flying straight from Heathrow, I have been comparing the prices and for the 3 of us ( 3 adults as Cal is 16 ) we will save over £730 by cutting the manchester to Heathrow flight out and the taxi to Heathrow will be £145, i know it will be a 3 hour car journey down, but by the time we have checked in at Manchester, waited for the flight got the filght then the transfer to the terminal we need it will take us less time anyway, flights from worlwide travel are coming up the cheapest at the moment...Qantas from Heathrow to Cairnes is £540 in August where as BA are charging £900+ Singapore airlines are the cheapest but only go to Perth!!

Location: Pelican Waters, Sunshine Coast | Hi Lynn
Funnily enough I was checking out prices yesterday! Singapore Airlines DO fly to Brisbane not just Perth.
I was expecting a big price hike to fly in the school hols but was pleasantly surprised.
We were d:
4 x adults @ 396 plus 128.30 tax each = 2097.20
1 x child @ 297 plus 128.30 tax = 425.30
Total = 2522.50
That is for us to fly on 21st August from heathrow via Singapore with Singapore Airlines.
When the lady at the travel agents asked about BA etc they were 700-800!
I came home and went on the internet and the Singapore Airlines one was a few quid cheaper.
We have also been d £145 for the taxi one way.

Location: Anywhere, apart from the UK | Hi Lynn.
Just a thought here, have you tried www.flydeals.co.uk, they may have some good flights available. They have always been the cheapest when I have flown. If this site cannot help the cheapest carrier to oz is normally Royal Brunei, they may not fly to all the major cities but cover a fare amount of oz.
I know they are not a really well known airline but their service is just as good as anyone else, with the exception of Singapore Airlines. Don't forget that the more flexible you are with the specific days etc the better the deal you will get and if you are prepared to stop off in Changi Singapore for a few hours then you could get it even cheaper. Stay away from BA, they are rude, expensive and unhelpful.
Its worth hunting around though, of course if you have got children then your requirements may change but feel free to contact me if I can help.
Cheers

Location: Marchwood, Hampshire, England | Just to add to the flight info, something i get to look at .... maybe its something to do with working at Heathrow, so the next time one of you is leaving i could meet up and save you money on your starbucks
Anyway if you did not know Quantas and BA are in partnership, therefore what you get on one you get on the other. Roughly around £543 per person to ADL. This would i one stop hope in some cases and/or one change in OZ depending on location you wanted to got to. Due to the one world partnerships most airlanes work together for long haul i.e oz or america to keep prices around the same. The cheapest day to fly in the year is 15/09 this year. Its worth checking it out. Don't forget once you book your cheap ticket that you can add at least £150 pounds in tax on it (thank you gordon brown).
If you dont fancy Dubai or Singapore then there is an option to fly to holand on KLM and then fly direct to Oz. Not a lot of people know that, so for those traveling from Manchester, its worth checking out.
I hope this helps some of you, and if you need further help, let me know.
Just to add to this there are some flights that are £303 return. I will try and find out about these, and you also have a new airline starting up later this year which is targetting the oz routes and will undercut the bigger airlines. |

Location: North Queensland for now | One thing you all might be interested in is when our visa advice came through there is a note in the letter saying we might be eligilble for a special reduced one way economy fare.
This is copied from their website
Concessional Fares for Immigrants Travelling to Australia and New Zealand
Every approved immigrant (under the categories Skilled Migrration, Business Skills and Parent Migration) is eligible for a special reduced one-way economy fare and more generous baggage allowance from IOM. This has been the result of negotiations with a large number of international carriers on specifically designated routes. Fare reductions are available from most international carriers from any destinations and for this special service, IOM will charge a reasonable service fee.
Once payment has been received, IOM Canberra will organise your flights according to your preferred date of travel. Depending on your departure city your airtickets will either be made available to you locally at the airline town office or couriered to you.
If you are interested in receiving more information on IOM concessional fares, baggage allowance and eligibily criteria, please do not hesitate to contact us or send us your details.

I can remember someone goign through them and they saved quite a bit on their flight costs. |

| Hiya,
Moved this to FAQ's as requested.
We are constanly looking at ways of getting cheaper flights for our customers. As soon as we find a good deal we will be publishing it.
There's not much out there at the moment - generally it seems your best bet is to look around at the time you plan to go. Lots of deals come up, but they are often very temporary.
